Amie joined the World Orphans team in November 2014 as our Journey Trips Mobilization Director. Most recently, she took on the role of Mobilization Director. In this role, Amie manages and oversees all details and logistics of casting vision for, planning, preparing, and implementing all World Orphans Church Partnership and Journey Trips, to ensure that World Orphans continues to meet the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Missions.
She graduated from Johnson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible and Missions. She later attended Lincoln Memorial University and became a K-8 teacher in the state of Tennessee. Amie loved teaching grades 3-5 for six years in Knoxville inner-city schools. In addition, she previously worked in the field of Human Resources for an international company where she coordinated benefits, compensation, employee relations issues, and community events.
She is married to James, has three children, and one grandchild. Amie loves to hike, swim, and enjoy the Smoky Mountains where her family resides.
After her first Journey Trip with World Orphans, Amie was amazed by the ministry through the local church. "Through a Journey Trip, we are able to learn about, come alongside, encourage, and serve with the global church. The global church is already in the trenches doing the work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the lives of orphans, families, and communities. I was humbled and astonished as I saw church partners who were solid in their faith, humble in their service, and reaching out into their communities to deal with multiple facets of poverty on a daily basis. Who wouldn't want to experience a trip like this and grow in a deeper knowledge and understanding of how the global church, the Bride of Christ, is bringing glory to God throughout the earth?"
