Jan Roehl is a Senior Partner at Deloitte Consulting with over 30 years of experience guiding global and domestic private and publicly held companies in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide systems and processes designed to enhance shareholder value and enable the achievement of critical corporate objectives. Jan brings a unique combination of technology, finance, and strategy experience across multiple industries including technology and telecommunications. She is also a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams and recognized for her deep expertise in information technology, digital transformation, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and cyber risk/computer security.
Jan held numerous leadership roles at Deloitte including Northwest Regional Service Area Leader for all applications (e.g., SAP and Oracle), where she had P&L responsibility for a $300M practice. She successfully led the West Region Oracle/PeopleSoft practice for six years during which the firm achieved over 200% growth. As the Denver Office Managing Partner, she had operating responsibility for the Audit, Computer Security, Tax, and Consulting areas and grew the office by over 50% in one year. Jan also served as the National Leader for the Women’s Initiative for the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications industries.
Jan has advised global Fortune 500 corporations on some of the largest strategic transactions (M&A) in the high-technology sector. Additionally, she has worked with emerging growth companies to prepare for their initial public offerings. Jan is a recognized expert in ERP and CRM systems and has led some of Deloitte’s largest client engagements. In recognition of the superior performance Jan and her teams have achieved, she has been the recipient of six highly coveted Excellence Awards from Oracle Corporation. Jan also has extensive experience in leading the implementation of shared service centers.
Jan published over a dozen books including M&A IT Best Practices, IT Best Practices for Financial Executives, Controllership – The Work of the Managerial Accountant, and the Controller’s Manual, all of which were published by John Wiley & Sons. She has also written articles for several publications including the Wall Street Journal (CIO Edition) and been quoted in a number of magazines, including CIO and Profit. She has been a guest lecturer at USC’s Marshall School of Business on technology and accounting-related topics.
Jan worked at Ernst & Young for 14 years and was the Application Software Managing Principal for the Colorado area. She led all package-related consulting services across multiple industries. She started her career at one of the Regional Bell Operating Companies in accounting.
Jan served on the board of Capital Hills Community Services (Denver) and has volunteered with numerous not-for-profit organizations (e.g., Junior Achievement and Red Cross of Denver and Samaritan’s Purse). She is also the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the University of Southern California (USC) MBA Strategy & Consulting Club.
Jan graduated from USC’s Marshall School of Business with an MBA in accounting and information systems. She also received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Organizational Behavior from the University of Washington (magna cum laude) and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Jan has successfully completed the CPA exam and has deep accounting knowledge.
