Job Title: Haiti Country Director
Reports To: International Church Partnership Director
Location: Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Salary/Benefits: Support raised position, salary commensurate to level of education and experience
Start Date: September 2017, or once support is raised
This Haiti Country Director primarily focuses on how the parts of the organization function together with the local church to help fulfill the strategic plan and ensure team members are serving to the best of their abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent World Orphans in a Christ-like professional manner to many different internal and external constituencies.
Consistently exhibit enthusiasm about World Orphans and the opportunities available.
Regularly pray for World Orphans and develop transformational relationships to grow the local church and the ministry of World Orphans.
Subscribe to the World Orphans Statement of Faith, Standards of Conduct, and Mission Statement.
Maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality as it pertains to records, information, and financial data.
Communicate the World Orphans Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual leadership that is an example to others.
Attend and participate in a local church body.
Join a small team of workers in Haiti looking to effectively use their gifts and experiences in a team and community setting. The work will be Gospel-centered and wholistic, and will focus on learning the best ways to equip local churches to care for orphaned and vulnerable children in families. As a community-oriented team, the work will range in scope and detail, but will focus on building up the local church, developing our local team, empowering parents/caregivers to better care for their children, and working to create pathways for children to grow into thriving adults. Previous experience in these areas will be helpful:
2+ years living abroad
Leading cross-cultural team
Starting or working in a small business
Teaching and/or training others
Develop World Orphans organizational and strategic assets, including international team members, and church partners.
Understand World Orphans, vision, programs, and how to best grow and develop.
Help to create an environment rooted in Christ, where partners are empowered to focus on the relational aspects of their jobs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee collaboration by coordinating goal setting, reviews, training and development, and overall partnership cohesion.
Develop organizational budgets based on individual program needs.
Ensure that the organization is operating within pre-defined budget parameters as approved by the leadership team.
Work together with World Orphans Leadership Team for future program development in family, community, and church-based care.
Manage organizational and team member policies.
Work from goals to ensure that the organization is staying focused and on track for achieving its yearly goals.
Develop networks and relationships with complementary organizations.
Oversee project database ensuring all team members have an ability to record required information.
A developed and growing passion for orphans around the world.
Experience living and working internationally.
High capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Able to self-direct/schedule and work well on a team.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Strong aptitude for building and developing relationships with individuals in ministry, business, the government, and other NGOs.
Able and willing to serve, be flexible, and adapt to the changing needs of life and ministry.
