Eglise de Dieu de la Bible in Port-au-Prince, Haiti was founded in 1980, and Pastor Thony has been the pastor since 1995. They have about 580 adult members and over 150 children. The church runs a school and provides scholarships for the students. The school educates 150 children, 75 of which are orphans.
Eglise de Dieu de la Bible planted three other churches in Haiti. The first congregation was established in the town where pastor Thony is originally from, Grand Goave, with 140 adult members. The second congregation in Delmas (near the World Orphans office) ministers to 150 adult members. The third congregation, located in Hinch, ministers to 200 adult members.
Orphan & vulnerable Children
Through the OVC Program, each Haitian church will help meet the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of 20 families caring for orphaned and vulnerable children by:
Forming a OVC committee team of 4-5 members (volunteers)
Assigning ministry team members to visit each family every month to provide ongoing support, encouragement, prayer and monitoring of the families
Providing education scholarships to Christian schools
Additional tutoring and counseling is available for children with special needs
Providing monthly food baskets to families for additional nourishment and nutrition
Offering health insurance to families so they can receive medical care, medication, and dental care as needed
Assisting with the needs of the families as appropriate, including helping with things like school supplies, clothing, shoes, etc.
Caring for families emotionally by providing counseling through our World Orphans Haiti social worker
