ABOUT THE CHURCH
Eglise de Dieu de la Bible in Port-au-Prince, Haiti was founded in 1980, and Pastor Thony has been the pastor since 1995. They have approximately 580 adult members and over 150 children. The church runs a school and provides scholarships for the students. The school educates 150 children, 75 of which are orphans.
Pastor Thony was born in Leogane July 17, 1968. He married his wife, Doxy Guerline, in 2000, and they have three daughters. As a young man, Thony had a reputation for mocking and ridiculing Christians; however, when a friend invited him to church, he heard the Gospel, and he accepted Jesus as his Savior. Before Thony became the pastor of Eglise de Dieu de la Bible, he was a member. At the time, the church was pastored by an American evangelist and it did not have a permanent building. Eventually, the American pastor returned to the United States, and Thony, along with the other members, wanted to keep the church going. God placed it on Thony’s heart to lead the church, and when God provided a permanent building for them, Thony knew it was confirmation that the Lord had called him to be the pastor.
